How this site is paid, and what it refuses
Two links on Arch Reckoner can earn a commission, neither of them sells implants, and a good deal more has been turned down than taken. This page lists both sides.
Arch Reckoner carries two partner links. When somebody follows one and buys something, this site may earn a commission. Everywhere either link appears, a panel above it says so before you click, in addition to this page.
The two links
- DentalPlans.com — a marketplace for dental discount plans, and a paid link. A dental discount plan is not insurance.** It is a membership that gives access to reduced fees at participating dentists; it pays no claims and carries no annual maximum. Whether any participating dentist near you does full-arch implant work, and at what reduction, is something to check before paying for a membership.
- Opencare — a paid link to a booking service that lists dentists in US metropolitan areas. It is a way to book an appointment, not an endorsement of any dentist on it.
Both links carry rel="sponsored nofollow", our robots file keeps crawlers out of /go/, and neither link contains a tracking parameter today: both point at the companies' own home pages until this domain has its own approved programme link. No partner ID is shared with any other site.
What we refused, and why
- Two more discount-plan programmes in the same category were available to apply to. Neither has accepted this domain, and one publishes no terms at all on its own affiliate page. A programme nobody has been accepted into cannot honestly be presented as a recommendation, so neither is linked.
- Every clinic, chain and dental service organisation, in every country. This lane's reader is shopping for a provider, which is exactly why we will not sell them one. No practice has paid to be named here, because no practice is named here.
- Clinic-side facilitators and dental-tourism brokers. The organisations that arrange treatment abroad are paid by the clinics they send you to. Where the subject comes up, we describe the market and how those arrangements work; we do not link them and we take nothing from them.
- Lead generation. There is no quote form on this site, and there will not be one. Nobody's details are collected, so nobody's details are sold.
What a payment can and cannot do here
It cannot buy a mention, a position, a recommendation or a kind sentence. The two links above sit on pages whose whole argument is that the products behind them do not solve the problem the page is about — a discount plan and a booking service do not pay for an arch of implants, and both pages say so in those words.
Nothing about the money changes what the fee schedules say. If a partner's interests and a reader's interests ever point in different directions on this site, the page follows the reader, and the commission can go unearned.
Where the honest free answers are
Every commercial page here also names options that pay us nothing: a dental school clinic, a federally qualified health centre charging on a sliding scale, and a second opinion from a dentist who is not selling the treatment. They are there because they are frequently the right answer, and their being unpaid is exactly why they get said plainly.
Everything refused above is load-bearing, not decorative. Reversing any of it — a programme approved, a category reconsidered — means rewriting this page first, in public, and only then letting a link appear anywhere else on the site.
